A proven track record of leadership.

Devin Del Palacio is a long time community member having served on the Tolleson Union School Board for 8 years. As a life-long resident of Arizona, Devin Del Palacio has served in various community and elected positions throughout the Phoenix Metro Valley. Devin was raised by a single mother, and due to financial situations, attended 8 different public schools while growing up. He was taught the value of hard work from a young age and raised to take positive action in his community.

Devin began his career as a community organizer, where he worked to empower and register over 34,000 voters in West Phoenix & South Phoenix. He now continues on that path of servant leadership by now serving on the Tolleson Union High School District Governing Board.

He is the first African American to serve on the board in the district's 100-year history. In his first 120 days of taking office, Devin worked to bring the My Brother’s Keeper Initiative to the Tolleson district, with the goal of creative positive educational and life outcomes for young men of color through mentorship. Devin has since been recognized by the Cesar Chavez Foundation, The City of Phoenix, NASA and the Arizona School Board Association for his commitment to creating equitable schools and safe neighborhoods through collaborative efforts.

His top priorities have been to increase pay, since he began educators have received over 40% in pay raises, he has also led in school rebuilds all while increasing graduation rates by 10%. The last few years have been difficult for many in our communities, especially our schools and for our students. Devin has since led efforts to bring mental health support to the district. This is a crucial part of his platform in this campaign as well as the need for all students to feel safe. Not just through counseling support, but through how campuses are even built and designed. As a parent of three little ones he is dedicated to continue to improve education.

Devin has now taken a national leadership role with the National School Board Association serving as Chairman-Elect for the National Black Council of School Board Members. He hopes to continue the progress together by continuing to connect community to education and to partnerships that help it grow.
